What can SmartPitch do?
SmartPitch can measure true pitch release speed, exit velocity, launch angle, and distance hit using ordinary smartphones. All information measured is displayed in real time, captured hands free, automatically, and recorded in a database for future analysis. The recorded data is also plotted on graphs, and available to all users for comparison of measurements. Once satisfied, users have the option of sharing the metrics on email or social media for recruitment, publicity, or "bragging rights".

What Sports can SmartPitch be used for?
SmartPitch is compatible with baseball, softball, slow pitch softball, cricket, lacrosse, & tennis. A golf version is under development. SmartPitch was primarily designed for baseball and softball, but app modifications have adapted it to accommodate many other sports. If the sport has a moving object, a point A, and a point B, then SmartPitch's software is capable of determining the moving object's velocity. Future development of SmartPitch will make the app more user-friendly for sports other than baseball, softball, and cricket.
